Bracknell-based autograph has raised £2,000 for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) following a weeklong food promotion at its customer sites across the UK. The contract catering company ran daily “School Pud” themed specials at the end of September, to coincide with the start of the school year, offering to donate 20 pence for every dessert purchased.

Over the course of the promotion, autograph sold almost 10,000 desserts at around 100 locations nationwide. The desserts, all freshly prepared on-site, gave diners at the staff restaurants the chance to relive a little part of their school day experience with some classic recipes. These included Jam Roly Poly, Ginger Fruity Pudding, Spotted Dick, Bread and Butter Pudding and Treacle Tart.

Paul Daly, Managing Director at autograph commented: “We are thrilled with the overall response, which has resulted in a significant donation to the NSPCC. Whilst the School Puds offer was designed as a bit of nostalgic fun for our customer’s employees, it allowed us to support a worthy cause that aims to protect children from cruelty and abuse. Therefore we would like to thank everyone who bought a dessert during the promotion and look forward to running similar schemes in the future.”
